More than 400 jobs could be generated in Tasmania, Australia through the construction of a wind turbine facility.More than 400 jobs can be created in Tasmania, Australia upon the construction of a wind turbine facility which will manufacture AU$200-million worth of turbines, according to ABC News last week (July 14). Tasmania-based EcoEnergy Solutions has reportedly signed an agreement with Germany’s Nordwind to develop the project.
The main manufacturing plant might be constructed in the George Town region of northern Tasmania, EcoEnergy’s Managing Director Garry Yost told ABC News. The turbines will be marketed in Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific region.
EcoEnergy specializes in providing turnkey packages on renewable energy. It has expanded from purely renewable energy product lines, such as solar photovoltaic, wind, and solar hot water, to include all aspects of renewable energy solutions. Its client base includes all levels of government, industries, public and private utilities, individuals, and overseas partners.
Meanwhile, the Tasmanian-owned power utility Hydro Tasmania expressed its intention to expand its renewable energy operations in Musselroe and Waterloo in southern Australia last April – underscoring the state’s continued promotion of renewable energy.
