GWS Technologies plans $ 30-million solar farm in Mesa, Arizona
Arizona’s climate is often described as perfect for solar energy production. Significant state and federal subsidies promote solar power generation in the state. Image sourced from STOCKXPERT Alternative energy company GWS Technologies, Inc. announced yesterday [June 10] that it has submitted its bid to build a solar farm near the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport in Mesa, Arizona that is estimated to initially cost $30 million.
The solar farm will be built for Arizona utility Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District (SRP), which provides electricity to 930,000 retail customers in the Phoenix area.
GWS Technologies said the project will qualify for a $2.50-per-watt of commercial solar production from SRP because its submission was made before SRP reduced its rebate to the current $2.25 per watt.
In its proposal, GWS Technologies will provide equipment and technology integration for the project.

GWS Technologies is a company based in Scottsdale, Arizona. It makes solar and urban and vertical wind energy products. This includes solar modules, inverters, chargers, and the combined wind and solar power generation system called the Pro-Series Solar Stik Breeze.
SRP had set a target of 15% power generation from sustainable sources by 2025.
